SETENTA is a Parisian Latin Funk combo of seven musicians. In 2006 , Osman had the original idea to drive jazz funk musicians into latin musical vocabulary. After few successful live exhibition where they took on the “Maestros” Tite Curet ,Cheo Feliciano, they decided to work on original latin funk fusion recording session. They looked for a unique sound, a mix between seventies analogic recording, contemporary funk arrangement rootsy percussions and latin soul vocal melodies. In 2008, HOT CASA decided to produce their first single on 7 inch vinyl. it’s immediately a success. Sold out after 3 weeks, playlisted all over the world , from “Mambo Machine radio show in NYC” to Radio NOVA in Paris. Prestigious dj’ s such as Nickodemus and Quantic, Gilles Peterson, Rich Medina and Bobbito Garcia burnt the dancefloor all over the world with this Tumbao so funky!
Prestigious label such as R2 , Wagram multi licensed the track on latin fusion compilation.
In 2009 they came back in studio recording a huge Soul and funky Tcha Tcha Tcha, a tribute to the old scene with a tremendous drum, original funky arrangements ,and hard latin percussions. The famous web site Dustygroove . com describes SETENTA as ” The band that keeps it in the soul realm while still hitting it with funk!”
The album will be released late April 2010 , including huge hits , modern boogaloo, Parisian mambo and funky plena!
